The Crownorder was instituted in 1969 when the Houseorder of Orange was reorganised. The Queen is the Grandmaster of the Order. These orders are being issued for special merit to foreigners by the Queen herself, without formal consultation of the Government. During the period 1905-1969 the Order consisted of 13 degrees. The Crownorder consists of 5 degrees and three honorary medals:
