In 1971 a medal was instituded for faithfull service for Amsterdam police-personell. At first the medal was only issued to operational staff. This was later corrected to alle personeel serving the Amsterdam Police-force. A silver medal was issued for 25 years of service, a gold medal for 40 years of service. After the reorganisation of the police in 1993 the medals were abolished in 1994.

Material: silvered metal, diameter 38mm. Obverse: A sword on the book of law, below the text "Vigilat ut quiescant" (he is on guard for those who rest), the coat of arms of the municipal police. Reverse: the shiel of the Amsterdam municiplaity. Engraved the date of the jubilee.
