The festivities to commemorate the 25 years of marriage of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard were not held on the day of their marriage, 7th of January, but on Queensday (30th of April) and the two days after. On the 30th of April Queen Juliana inspected the honorary guard and took a ride in an open coach through Amsterdam. Traditionally, the couple was rowed in an 144 year old gallion (now in the Shipping Museum in Amsterdam), rowed by 18 midshipmen. Once trying to pass the New Amstelbridge, the bridge was too late to open. The commander of the gallion finally crossed under the bridge (which is forbidden according to protocol) after lowering the flag and royal standard. On first and second May festivities, like a royal dinner, were held with foreign guests.

Obverse: Portraits of Queen Juliana and H.R.H. Prince Bernhard facing left. Rreverse: intertwined J and B and the figure of 25. Material: Silver. Diameter 31,5 mm. The ribbon is the same as the Wedding medal 1937 reflecting the Royal Houses of Orange Nassau and Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Lippe.
